Marjean Bigelow, CMHC Master’s Intern, Gottman’s Level 1 certified, QMHP (OR)

Life is a journey of growth, change, and self-discovery. At times, unexpected challenges can knock us off balance, and that’s where seeking support becomes crucial. As a therapist, I am honored to be a companion on your healing journey, whether it’s navigating grief, managing anxiety, overcoming depression, navigating faith transitions, or addressing other life challenges.

With over two decades of experience as a middle-school teacher, my background includes working with adolescents and pre-teens guiding them through challenges related to ADHD, disorganization, and other various struggles. I support teens dealing with academic stress, peer pressure, and mental health challenges. Whether you’re a wife, mother, or professional feeling overwhelmed, I can help you regain confidence and identity. If you’re grappling with faith dissonance, let me assist you in finding spiritual integration on your unique faith journey, exploring your story and aspirations.

Therapy, in my view, is a powerful tool for gaining clarity on your identity, pursuing dreams, and tackling life’s challenges. My approach involves walking alongside you in a caring, safe, and supportive environment. I draw from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution- Focused Therapy, and a person-centered therapeutic approach. Additionally, I am certified in level one Gottman Method Couples Therapy and am actively pursuing a trauma certificate from George Fox University, with plans to learn Restoration Therapy.

I am currently completing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University, but also hold a Master’s of Teaching Degree from Lewis and Clark College and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Brigham Young University.

Beyond my professional life, I find joy in spending time with family, walking my dog, embracing the outdoors, continuous learning, staying active through exercise, and even navigating the challenges of gluten-free baking (a journey that began after being a Pillsbury Bake-off Finalist in 2012). Life is a series of challenges and triumphs, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
