Martha King, MCFC Master’s Intern, QMHP (OR)

I believe we’re not meant to do life alone! Often our friends and family are the supports we need, but sometimes an outside perspective can be helpful as we go through the ups and downs of life. Every one of us is unique, so my goal in counseling is to get to know each person individually and work with them so that together we can formulate goals and decide on the best ways to reach them.

Each one of us can continue to grow and change as we journey through life. And as we change, we affect those around us, our friends and our families. I am passionate about helping individuals become who they want to be. And because I believe we live our best lives in relationship with others, I also work with couples and families to help them connect with each other in meaningful ways. As a trained Prepare/Enrich facilitator, I have worked with engaged and married couples and love walking with people who are working on their most important relationship. I also am aware of how hard it can be to be a teenager or young adult in today’s world, and I enjoy hearing their stories and coming alongside them as they navigate life, deciding who they are and how they want to live, both now and in the future.

I am a current Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy intern. My entire adult life I have worked in paid and volunteer roles with youth, adults, and couples, teaching classes and just walking alongside people as they go through challenging circumstances. But I decided to go to graduate school so that I would be better prepared to help people move forward in their lives in positive ways, gaining tools and experience that I can pass on to my clients. I am currently a Relate Strong Facilitator and a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator for pre-marital counseling, and am pursuing certification in Restoration Therapy.
